Everyone uses Google Search giant daily for
various reasons. Being the largest search engine Google provides many tools and
services. Google search is most popular for providing search results, and at
the same time it offers less known features like currency conversion, calculator
and many more. There are tools provided by Google which are unknown to masses,
but they are very effective. I will share some of those Google tools which will
help make your search easy.
1. Find Definition of Words
If you
don’t know the definition of a word, then Google it, Google brings accurate
results in searches and then you can visit the webpage in order to get the
definition. Easiest way is to type your query like Define YourWord and the get
the result quickly.
2. Translate any Major language to English
You know Google translator, whenever you
visit a non-English page using chrome a pop-up appear asking whether you want
to translate the page or not. That is easy, but what if you want to translate
some lines of information from social networking site like Facebook or Twitter.
Easiest way will to use another Google Service which is called Translate tool.
To translate something visit Translate.Google.com in the first fieldcopy paste
information you want to translate the tool will show you the translated words
in the second field
3. Use Google for Mathematical calculation
Why disturb calculator for basic math like
Addition, Subtraction and multiplication when you can do this on Google. To use Google Calculator Type the word
Calculator in Google Search bar or you can simply put the equation.
4. Use Google as Currency Converter
How can you find the key details of a
Company? For example, if you have to find Key Details about Nokia, like Present
CEO, Founder, Founded in etc. Will you try to search answer for each query like

Nokia’s Founded in?
This seems to be time consuming work. In Google
search bar you just have to type the company name and Google will show you
description of the company its Logo, Present CEO, Fonder, co-Founder, etc.
5. Use Google as Currency Converter
There are various currency converter widgets
available for Windows operating system which automatically updates itself and latest
currency exchange rates. We have numerous websites which produce up to date
currency exchange rates, but for that you have to visit the website. Won’t that
be great if you can get the up to date Currency Exchange rates from Google
Search. This is a simple method. Type Currency Converter in Google Search bar
and Google will bring you a currency converter. Then you can type the amount after
selecting the currency for which you want to get the Exchange rates.
6. Google Local Search
Google Local Service tool can get relevant
and quick suggestions based on the queries.
7. Find only PDF Files
If you have to find files of PDF format then
you can achieve this by adding a file type to your search.
For Example HP File Type: PDF
This will find you the HP related documents
in PDF format, this feature is handy when you have to search for manuals of devices.
8. Find the Pages Linked to your website
This is not the best solution for bloggers to
check backlinks but this is still a good way to see what other pages are
linking to your blog or domain. To achieve this type
Link: followed by the url
Example: Link:http://www.facebook.com
This displays the pages which are linked to
the url.
